Minecraft - Deep Dark: Everything about the expected biome of the Wardens who will arrive at 1.19

Sometimes more than a month ago, on February 17, Mojang counted the four winds the arrival of a very special snapshot for Minecraft. After the success of Caves & Cliffs II, they could have stayed with their visual updates and events, but the truth is that with the 1.19 patch scheduled for the middle of this year, a new biome would come to the game.

We are talking about anything more and nothing less than Deep Dark , one of the most anticipated environments in Minecraft's story. It was already shown at the Minecraft Live of 2020, held on October 3, 2020, and since then he has been waiting for his chance to appear. However, his presence in the latest betas and snapshots give us many keys about this new Minecraft biome.

Where is the Deep Dark?

DEEP DARK is a bioma in the world called as overworld , that is, the initial world of Minecraft. As its name suggests (Deep Dark in Castilian is something like deep darkness), it is an underground biome and that always appears at a depth and = 0 or less.

The most particularity of the Deep Dark is that only in it can appear ancient * cities * (ancient cities). These are palace style constructions that have the peculiarity of being the only overworld sites in which it is possible to find in a natural way Soul Sand, Soul Soil and Polished Basalt , Nether's own blocks.

In addition to this, cities have chef full of objects that can not be achieved in other places or that can help dodge the wardens , the guardians of these places. Said objects range from the useful snowballs to enchantments such as SWIFT Sneak. As you can see in the images, there is a new block in the surrounding areas as it is sculk .

Sculk, the new block of this biome

Sculk is a new material that can only be found in Deep Dark biomes. It can be achieved with any tool, but it is the hoe that has a higher speed and always releases 1 point of experience when being undermined. Additionally, this block can be generated in a radius of 8 blocks with respect to a sculk catalyst whenever it dies a mob inside it. The Sculk will replace the block on which it has died.

That catalyst is a variant of the Sculk blocks, but there is more. There is Sculk sensor , which functions as a vibration detector and noise at a distance of 9 blocks, such as pistons, an elytra or a wet wolf drying. When it detects this, it emits a pulse from Redst1. And we also have the Sculk Shrieker **, but we will talk about now.

Warden, the fearsome MOB of Deep Dark

If you know only one thing of this new biome, it is probably the warden . This mob is his guardian and has announced almost two years. As we advance in the previous paragraph, it is invoked when a Sculk Shrieker is activated by the presence of a player, which also generates the state Darkness in it, periodically hiding the view.

It is about a mob with 500 points of impact, that is, 250 hearts . This makes him the second hardest enemy of the game, just behind the 300 Hearts of the Wither in the Bedrock version and exceeding Ender's 100 Dragon 100 double. They are blind and just attack when they listen to noise, even if they are from other mobs that are not wardens, not just the player.

Minecraft 1.19 Snapshot 22W12A Derpy Wardens & Waterlogged Leaves!

They do not release any interesting material and barely drop 3 of experience, becoming clearly in an enemy to avoid and that does not have too many incentives at combat level. We say this because in difficult, is able to ignore shields and do enough damage to end a player with a full Netherite set .
