Soon at BVB: Flick raves about Schlotterbeck
National coach Hansi Flick praised the Freiburg international Nico Schlotterbeck shortly before the DFB Cup final for his "very good development".
"You can see what SC Freiburg and (coach) Christian Streich do for a good job," said Flick in the "ARD" shortly before the kick -off on Saturday evening in the Berlin Olympic Stadium. "He is a player who is very confident and also knows what to do with the ball."
The 22 -year -old Schlotterbeck will move to Borussia Dortmund in the coming season. Flick had nominated him for the next four games in the Nations League.
Schlotterbeck's cup opponent of RB Leipzig, Benjamin Henrichs (25) and Lukas Klostermann (25), are also for the games in Bologna against Italy (June 4), in Munich against England (June 7), in Budapest against Hungary ( June 11) and nominated in Mönchengladbach against Italy (June 14).
"This is a huge challenge for us," said Flick in particular with a view to the games against European champions Italy and EM finalist England.
"This is great because we can also develop a certain mental strength as a group." Next Monday, the DFB selection will open in a short training camp in Marbella, where the families and friends of the professionals will also be there.
